He is survived by: his wife Cynthia Starr Ransom; his children, Joe, Laura Lee Crystal, Mark Alan "Bud" Crystal (Melanie) and Joseph Paul Crystal (Heather); his grandchildren, Erin Nicole Goodrick, Isaiah Charles Crystal, Cole Trevin Crystal (Katelyn), Zoey Michele Crystal and Alex Jay Crystal; his great grandchildren, Cory Lee Thomas, Jaime Jo Ann Thomas and Marshall Thomas Wessel; his great great grandchild Marlee Rose Thomas; his great grandchild Weston James Crystal; and his sister Mary Jane Tam (Charlie) of Lafayette.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 3rd 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. Mary's Cathedral (1207 Columbia St, Lafayette, IN 47901). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday, November 3rd 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Mary's Cathedral.
