James Roscoe Mitchell Obituary

He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Owen and Geraldine Russell Mitchell. He is survived by: his children, Charles Gregory Drinnen, Laura Diane Mitchell Benedict (Brian), Jessica Meeks Clark and Kelli Anne Drinnen White; his grandchildren, Everett, Daniel Mitchell, Isabella Anne and Meredith Kate Benedict; his daughter Jill (Doug); his granddaughters, Melanie and Abigail Barnett; his son Stuart (Julia); his granddaughter Maya Meade (Kevin Hinkle); and his great grandchildren, Elliot and Vivien. He is also survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 1st 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Faith Church (5526 IN-26, Lafayette, IN 47905). A memorial service will be held on Thursday, October 1st 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.

Those wishing to honor Jim's memory may make contributions to some of his favorite charities, including Riley Children's Hospital, Mayo Clinic, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Lafayette Urban Ministries, Faith Church Ministries, or Cookeville Regional Cancer Center in Cookeville, Tennessee.
