He is survived by: his children, David Mathews, Kristi Mathews, Earl Throop, Lance Mathews, Amy Seedorff (Mathews), Bryan Hunt, Greg Hunt and Penny Hunt. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren, and 18 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, August 25th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Hippensteel Funeral Home (822 N 9th St, Lafayette, IN 47904). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, August 26th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
