Jesus Robert Ramirez II Obituary

With heavy hearts we announce the unexpected passing of Jesus "Shorty" Roberto Ramirez on March 17, 2026, at the age of 50. Shorty was born on November 28, 1975, to Jesus "Bob" and Jacqueline (Drown) Ramirez in Lafayette, Indiana, later residing in South Florida and returning to Lafayette in 2014.

Shorty lived a life marked by an unparalleled sense of humor, kindness, compassion, and deep devotion to those who were lucky enough to be a part of his life – especially his cousins who were among his best friends – Mark, Fred, Jason, Jeremy, Brian, Kathy, Clayton, Carlos, Maria, Tanya, Fabian, Adam, Kristen, Samantha and his nephew Andrew.

Shorty was a natural and talented salesman with a career that spanned multiple industries with notable employers including Franklin Pest Control, TruGreen Lawn Care, and most recently Amazon.

A self-proclaimed handy man, Shorty spent his free time doing the things he enjoyed which included watching football, golfing, cooking out, and anything that had to do with fire. He was a lifelong Washington Redskins fan, even after what he referred to as "their travesty of a name change", but none of that compares to the joy he felt when spending time with his children and helping them in their sports.

Shorty is survived by his parents, Bob and Jackie, his many aunts and uncles, Ralph and Claudia, Bea and Doug, Sam and Linda, Andy and Donna, Pam and Larry, Barbara and Dave, Lois, and his beloved children, Ali, Joey, and Bella. He remained close with his former wife, Lisa Ramirez (Gottlieb), with whom he shared 14 years of marriage. Together, they raised their children with love and mutual respect, a testament to their enduring friendship and love for each other.

Shorty received many awards and accolades as a salesman but always said his greatest accomplishment was his three children whom he loved more than anything in the world and would do anything for.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Stephanie Ramirez.

A service will be held at Fisher Funeral Chapel on Saturday March 21, 2026, at Noon with burial following in Tippecanoe Memory Gardens, West Lafayette. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 10 a.m. until Noon.
