He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmer Byrd and Mary Lou Byrd (Lockard); his son Dennis John Byrd; and his brothers, Charles (Ed), Richard and Elmer Lee.
He is survived by: his wife Sharon Lytle; his children, Deborah Byrd of Lafayette, Indiana and Daniel Byrd (Tanya) of Waynesville, Ohio; his daughter-in-law Molly Byrd of Sweetwater, Tennessee.; and his grandchildren, Robbie, Heather, Ryan, Ashley, Andrew, Alex, Tatiana and Harrison. He is also survived by nine great-grandchildren.
