He was predeceased by: his parents, Michael James and Joanne James (Bloom). He is survived by: his wife Elizabeth Miller; his children, John E. James, Jr. of Lafayette, David H. James of Lafayette and Alexis G. James of Lafayette; and his brothers, Patrick M. James (Lori) of Lafayette and Paul A. James of Chesterton.
