John F. Gretencord Obituary
We are sad to announce that, on March 4, 2026, at the age of 93, John F. Gretencord of Lafayette, Indiana passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond J. and Mary F. Gretencord (Kenney); his wife Shirley J. John; his son Steven; and his brother Raymond.
He is survived by: his daughters, Sharlene Austin (Gene) of Austin, TX, Cathy Gretencord (Bill Bull) of Indianapolis and Audrey Bernardin (G. A.) of Kyle, TX; his daughter-in-law Laura Gretencord; his grandchildren, Kathryn (Max Yancy), Jay (Sarah), Andrew (Anna), Alec, Caroline, Collin, Kate, Cole and Guerin; and his great grandchildren, JJ, Hank and Hyla.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions go toward a scholarship fund in his son, Steven Gretencord's name, to support Lawrence Township students. Donations can also be made online at https://msdltf.org.
