With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Kay Anne Baker (Lafayette, Indiana), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on March 1, 2026 at the age of 80. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As we bid farewell to this cherished soul, solace is taken in the memories held dear — the laughter shared, the wisdom imparted, the moments of quiet reflection in their presence. Though Kay Anne may no longer walk among us, her spirit lives on in the echoes of her kindness, the warmth of her embrace, and the light of her enduring love.
She was predeceased by: her husband Richard Dean Baker; and her parents, Clara Rosa Byers (Felling) and Charles Edward Byers. She is survived by: her children, Kerri Anne Baker and Andrew Wayne Baker; her granddaughter Sophie Grace Baker; her daughter-in-law Jennifer Baker; and her sisters, Mary Lou Vargas (Leonardo Vargas) and Marsha Rose Gipson (Craig Gipson). She is also survived by brother-in-law and his wife, nieces, nephews, cousins and their beloved children.
Visitation will be held on Friday, March 13th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Soller-Baker Funeral Home (400 Twyckenham Blvd, Lafayette, IN 47909). A burial will be held on Friday, March 13th 2026 at 3:30 PM at the Cemetery Fairhaven Cemetery (8518 W Co Rd 550 N, Mulberry, IN 46058).
In lieu of flowers those wishing may donate in Kay's name to the Humane Society of Greater Lafayette, 3150 Sagamore Parkway S. Lafayette, IN 47909.
