He was predeceased by: his parents, George Burkhalter and Billie Burkhalter (Dobson). He is survived by: his children, Ashley Hivley (Jarid), Katie Burkhalter and Brock Burkhalter; his girlfriend Kathy Baker; his girlfriend's children, Ryker and Owen Hack; and his brothers, Ron and Steve. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews; and many close friends.
