He was predeceased by: his parents, Burton Eugene and Bernice Louise Earl (Welch); his son Douglas Allen Earl; his sisters, Sue Smith and Carolyn Kriz; and his brothers-in-law, Dan Penix and Rick Burgbacher.
He is survived by: his wife Linda Sue Nelson; his children, Dan Earl (Lucretia) of Ohio, Debra Levering (Larry) of Ohio, Dean Earl of Ohio, Kip Mercer (Misty) of Ohio and Kyle Mercer of Ohio; and his sisters, Judy Penix and Mary Burgbacher. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
