She was predeceased by: her parents, Raymond Houston and Louise Houston (Odom); her sister Linda Joy Runk; and her brother-in-law John W. Runk. She is survived by: her husband Lawrence "Larry" Halsema; her sisters, Patricia "Pat" Wendt (Ralph) of Lafayette and Brenda Krug of Indianapolis; her stepson Andy Halsema of Lafayette; and her grandson Brett Halsema (Caitlin). She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Memorial contributions may be made in her honor to either Immanuel United Church of Christ or Lafayette Great Banquet.
