She was predeceased by: her parents, Elmer Gipson and Leatha Gipson (Lintner); her husband Gordon; and her great grandchild Alberto Leon. She is survived by: her children, Pauletta Payne of Lafayette, Teresa Hendren of Delphi and Rebecca Laythrop of Lafayette; her siblings, Judy Gipson, Stanley Gipson and Larry Gipson (Belinda); and her grandchildren, Barbara Payne, Amanda Payne (Dioncio Leon), Chelsea Payne, Nate Brooks (Mimi Craig), Brittany DeYoung and Taylor Richardson. She is also survived by 18 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.
