He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Carpenter and Vera Carpenter (Franks); his wife Ann L. Buchanan; and his brother Russell Carpenter. He is survived by: his son Sean Carpenter of Frederick, Maryland; his stepchildren, Cecilia Sleever and AJ Sleever (Jennifer); his sisters, Nadine Finck (Frankie) of Illinois and Evelyn Yoder (Allen) of Shipshewana, Indiana; and his sister-in-law Bonnie Carpenter of Ohio. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren.
