He was predeceased by: his parents, Menno D. Hershberger and Mary Ellen Hershberger (Schmucker); his wife Mary Ellen Miller; his grandson Elmer Bontrager; and his siblings, Ervin Hershberger, Gladys Hochstedler and Susie Huth.
He is survived by: his children, David Lee Hershberger (Mary) of LaGrange, Menno Jay Hershberger (Glenda) of Millersburg, Susan Kay Bontrager (Christy) of Cambria, WI and Alma Arlene Troyer (Marion) of LaGrange; and his siblings, Owen Kenneth Hershberger (Verna) of Mora, MN, Barbara Ellen Hershberger of LaGrange and Alma Arlene Schrock (Ora) of Topeka. He is also survived by 22 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, May 27th 2025 at 3:00 PM and on Wednesday, May 28th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM at the Sherman Miller Residence (485 W 200 S, LaGrange, IN 46761). A funeral service was held on Thursday, May 29th 2025 at 9:30 AM at the Funeral Sherman Miller Residence (485 W 200 S, LaGrange, IN 46761). A burial was held on Thursday, May 29th 2025 at the Sandhill Cemetery (2930 S 050 W, LaGrange, IN 46761).
