In the sacred silence of farewell, James is released into the embrace of eternity, knowing that his light will continue to shine brightly in the tapestry of the lives of his loved ones. And as his memory is carried forward, may comfort be found in the knowledge that love is eternal, and that James' spirit lives on in the beauty that surrounds us.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Homer Wilshire and Offie Wilshire (Kennedy); and his wife Marilyn. He is survived by: his children, Michelle Spencer (Shawn) of Prairie Home, MO, Kimberly Sutton (James) of Lake Station and Kevin Wilshire (Jenn) of DeMotte; and also Jason Hepler.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 24th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel (5341 Central Ave, Portage, IN 46368). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 24th 2025 at 6:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service will be held on Friday, June 27th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Calvary Cemetery (2701 Willowdale Rd, Portage, IN 46368).
