He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred W. Godfrey and Hazel Marie Godfrey; his former wife Shirley Misner Godfrey; his son James Fredrick Godfrey; and his brother Robert Godfrey.
He is survived by: his wife Lillian E. Shaffer; his daughters, Bonnie Buchanan (James) and Doreen Wiseburg (Fred); and his siblings, Chuck Godfrey (Millie) and Mildred Godfrey. He is also survived by eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren.
