He was predeceased by: his parents, Cecil Isom and Mary Ann Isom (Webster); his brothers, John and Phillip; and his siblings-in-law, Pam Isom and Charles Schultz.

He is survived by: his wife Karen; his children, Rick Isom, Vickie Dunn (Tim) of Anderson and Chris Isom (Pam) of Sparta, TN; his stepchildren, Greg Barker (Brenda) and Michele Barker (Eric Sterling) of Anderson; his sister Saundra Shultz; and his sister-in-law Donna Isom. He is also survived by ten grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
