He was predeceased by: his parents, Chester Lee Sr. and Gloria Martz Gabbard; his wife Marilyn Gabbard; and his children, Sherry Jolene Burdge, Sally Joe Steele, Jonathan Matthew Bowles and Gregory Lynn Bowles.
He is survived by: his children, Merle "Mark" Bowles (Doreen) of Milroy, Cecil Lee Bowles (Renesha) of Killeen, Robert Eugene Bowles of Indianapolis, Chester Lee Gabbard III of Connersville, Christopher Aaron Gabbard of Greensburg and Stacey Lee York of Falmouth; and his sister Carol Blevins of Greensburg. He is also survived by thirty-one grandchildren; twenty-three great-grandchildren.
