He was predeceased by: his parents, Herbert Bascom and Lois Bascom; his sisters, Cheryl Land and Cinda Beer; and his son-in-law Kris Hinkle.
He is survived by: his wife Patti; his children, Bridget Bascom-Hinkle of Lawrenceburg, IN, Erin Caudill (Mike) of Tecumseh, MI and Brent Bascom (Gina) of Versailles, IN.; and his grandchildren, Bay Hinkle, Ivy Hinkle, Colton Caudill, Audrey Caudill, Mason Bascom and Megan Bascom. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation was held on Sunday, September 13th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the St. John Lutheran Church (220 Mechanic St, Aurora, IN 47001). A funeral service was held on Monday, September 14th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
