She was predeceased by: her parents, Donald Caldwell and Ethel Caldwell (Wagoner); her husband Alan Smith (A. K.); her stepmother Pauline Caldwell; her siblings, Linda Portish, Luther "Bud" Gilliam and Dennis Caldwell; and her siblings-in-law, Jere Gilliam and Joseph Portish.
She is survived by: her family Thorntown; her sons, Scott Smith of Lebanon and Tadd Smith (Wendi) of St. John's; her sister Pamela Lonsdale; her grandchildren, Zach Smith (Claire), Tyler Smith (Chelsie), Eli Smith, Alexi Smith (Jacob) and Samantha Smith; and her great grandchildren, Cooper Smith, Lockett Smith, Elliott Smith, Ruby Smith, Mary Claire Smith, Hayden Smith, Sullie Smith, Emma Key, Jr., Endsley and Walker Endsley.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her memory to the Indiana State Police and the Boone County Cancer Society.
