He was predeceased by: his parents, Ora Aaron and Ossie Clara Whitaker (Swank); his wife Joyce Gale McCutchan; his sons, Kenneth Michael Whitaker and Nicholas Alan Whitaker; his siblings, Charles, Herman, Gertrude, Mildred, Pauline, Mary Alice and Edith; and his niece Carolyn Cole (Ratcliff).

He is survived by: his daughter Debra Campbell (Michael "Whitey") of Lebanon; his daughters-in-law, Sheryl Whitaker of Odessa, MO and Amy Whitaker of Simpsonville, KY; his grandchildren, Jerico Whitaker (Sara) of Jefferson City, MO, Joshua Whitaker (Julie) of Odessa, MO and Kaitlinn Whitaker (Shawne Gulledge) of Columbus, IN; and his great grandchildren, Jackson, Emma and Madison.

Visitation was held on Monday, September 14th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Strawmyer & Drury Funeral and Cremation Service (2400 N Lebanon St, Lebanon, IN 46052). A funeral service was held on Monday, September 14th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Strawmyer & Drury Mortuary (2400 N Lebanon St, Lebanon, IN 46052).
