He was predeceased by: his parents, Manuel Sánchez and Concepcion Rivas. He is survived by: his wife Rusbelinda Sánchez Maradiaga; and his children, Mario Edgardo Sánchez Sánchez of Honduras and Belinda Nickolle Sánchez Sánchez of Honduras. He is also survived by six grandchildren.
