As James Lee departs from this earthly realm, his essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. Though James Lee may no longer walk beside us, his spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy James Lee leaves behind.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Jonas Joseph May and Beatrice Rose May (Roberts); and his half-siblings, Bill Newkirk and Mary Gainey. He is survived by: his wife Betty J. May (Wheeler); his stepson Leland D. Hixson (Barbara Bland); his stepgrandchildren, Joshua D Hixson (Desirae) and Whitney L. Smith (Danny); and his sister-in-law Jeanne Newkirk. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 23rd 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM at the St. Peter Catholic Church - Linton (440 NE E St, Linton, IN 47441). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday, July 23rd 2025 at 10:30 AM at the St. Peter Catholic Church (440 NE E St, Linton, IN 47441).
