It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Phyllis Ann Layman of Logansport, Indiana, who passed away on June 20, 2025, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Harlan Powers and Susie Powers (Evans); and her siblings, Fred, Bill, Charlie, Don, Eugene, Mildred, Nellie and Gerri.
She is survived by: her husband Chuck; her daughters, Brenda K. Overton of South Bend, IN, Sandra Gerlach (Dean) of Lucerne, IN and Cynthia J. Ropes (Tom Richardson) of Walton, IN; and her grandchildren, Amy Loveless, Blake Ropes (Bailey), Abby Ropes, Brandon Gerlach (Heather), Kyle Gerlach (Lucy), Ashley Williams (James), Shelby Overton and Zach Overton (Emma). She is also survived by thirteen great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 29th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Faith Lutheran Church (6765 E 800 N, Logansport, IN 46947). A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, June 29th 2025 at 5:00 PM at the same location.
