She was predeceased by: her parents, Asa Ellis and Mary Bernadette Ellis (Halbert); her husband Donald J. Strange; her sons, Kenneth, Earl, Mike, Ernie and Joseph Allen Strange; and her siblings, Mary, Dorothy, Annie, Margaret, Harry, Jim and Charlie.
She is survived by: her children, Roger Strange of Paoli, Patrick Strange of Bloomington, Evelyn Matlock of Florida, Linda Hudoff of Bloomington, Ann Strange of Henryville and Pam Hurt of Bloomington; and her brothers, Bill Ellis of Loogootee and John Raymond Ellis of Loogootee. She is also survived by 19 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made in Ruth's honor at any home hospice organization or charity of choice.
