He was predeceased by: his mother Ellen; his sister Kristen Blissmer; and his grandparents, Richard, Sr., JoAnn Camus and Arne "Butch" Carlson.

He is survived by: his wife Katie; his children, Gyanna, Jacob, Gracyn and Mila; his father Richard, Jr. (Tammy); his grandmother Marcia Carlson; his siblings, Sarge Canarini (Becky), Josh Canarini (Pricilla), Sam Tharp (Logan), Lindsey Muenstermann (Steve) and Shanna Kyrouac (Adam); and his close friend Felix. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the family to be used as college funds for the children.
