She was predeceased by: her parents, Oscar "Shorty" Young and Florence Marie Sweeney Young; her grandmother Ann; her husband Robert Leonard Carpenter, Sr.; her son Robert L. "Bobby" Carpenter, Jr.; and her sister-in-law Betty Owens (Lou).
She is survived by: her daughter-in-law Toni Carpenter of Madison, Indiana; her grandchildren, Bobbie Jo Carpenter-Davis (Chris) of Osgood, Nissa A. Royalty of Madison, April M. Royalty of Madison, Indiana and Doulgas Carpenter of Indianapolis, Indiana; her great grandchildren, Abby (Alex), Clay, McKenna, Kirkland, Letha and Brady (Kenzie); her great great grandchildren, Addison, Ellayna, Dougie and Carter; her nieces, Betty Maddox (Mike) of Madison and Carol Ehlers of Madison, Indiana; her great-nieces, Sasha (BJ), Sarah (Andrew) and Sonja (Season); her cousins, Marilyn and Shelly; Kealia, Brecklyn, Cade and Kai.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, October 13th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre (325 Demaree Dr, Madison, IN 47250). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, October 13th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
