He was predeceased by: his parents, William Edwin and Muriel T. Schnabel (Ronk); his stepson Garry Mertz; and his sister Marilyn Lyons. He is survived by: his wife Roselle Schnabel (Garrett) of Madison; his sons, Greg Schnabel of Marrero and Mark Schnabel (Giovanna) of Newton, Kansas; his stepchildren, Kay Griffin, Wesley Mertz (Michelle), Barry Mertz (Lisa) and Debbie Stoner; and his siblings, Don Schnabel and Linda Adams (Paul) of Madison. He is also survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The family requests memorial contributions be made to the Resurrection Lutheran Church and Hopewell Baptist Church. Contributions may be made at the Welty Family Funeral Home or below.
