He was predeceased by: his father John E. Toland. He is survived by: his mother Shirley Ann Rogers Toland of Madison, Indiana; his brother Joel Toland (Holly) of Rowlett, Texas; and his aunts and uncles, Jim Rogers (Alice) of Madison, Betty Hackney of Bedford and Jean Lane of Orlando, Florida.
