With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Daniel Payne of Madison, Indiana, born in Cincinnati, Ohio, who passed away on November 23, 2020 at the age of 84. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Gladys Winkfield Payne and Dan Payne; his former wife Susie Lewis; his children, Suzanne and Wayne; and his grandchildren, Erin Dade, Cory Dade and Evan Carter.

He is survived by: his mother-in-law Elsie Cosby-Perry; his wife Elsie; his daughter Denise Dowell (Craig); his stepdaughter Cheryl Carter (Keith); his grandchildren, Marcus Payne and Erin Carter; and his great grandchildren, Tyesha Thompson, De Marcus Dade, Ka'Mya Prim, Kahmari, Maddox and Braxton Payne.

Face masks and social distancing will be required.

The family requests in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Daniel Payne Jr. family educational fund. Donations can be sent in care of Lytle Welty Funeral Homes & Cremation Service, 117 Holt Drive, Madison, Indiana 47250 or online below.
