He was predeceased by: his parents, Achie Louise Meyers Vest and William Marcus Vest; and his brothers, Vernon Marcus Vest, Floyd Vest and Clarence Dale Vest.

He is survived by: his son Bradley Wayne Vest of Madison, Indiana; and his siblings, David Vest of Brownstown, Indiana and Rosa Wooten of New Albany, Indiana. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews.
