With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Mable Bernice Turner Schanding of Madison, Indiana, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on April 27, 2025 at the age of 92. She was predeceased by: her parents, Martha Mae Durham Turner and Millard Ambrose Turner; her husband William Paul Schanding; her daughter Mona I. Schanding Crabtree; and her siblings, Noland Turner, Leroy Turner and Sarah Etta Harris.

She is survived by: her children, Karen Lewellyn (Doug) of Madison, Indiana and Paul Douglas Schanding (Becky) of Saint Simons Island, Georgia; her son-in-law Steve Crabtree of Vanceburg, Kentucky; her grandchildren, Eric Crabtree (Lindsey), Sarah Lewellyn (Kris), Paul Schanding and Lauren Schanding; her great grandchildren, Abigail Crabtree, Harrison Crabtree, Xavier Pietrykowski, Magnus Pietrykowski and Eliza Mott; her sister Mary Lou Crisci (Jerry) of Palatine, Illinois; and her siblings-in-law, Linda Turner of Fort Worth, Judy Blethen of Richmond, Kentucky and Donald Schanding of Louisville, Kentucky. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews.
