She was predeceased by: her parents, Gerald "Gerrit" Jonas and Muriel Jonas (Smith); her husband Arthur David Benkart; her siblings, Jean Bauerschmidt and Elton Jonas; and her daughter Deborah Faye Benkart.
She is survived by: her children, Lisa Jane Spears of Madison and Adriaan Benkart (Olga) of Woodridge, Illinois; her sisters, Gloria Louw (Alyson) of Cape Town and Dolores Bossenger (Peter) of Cape Town; her grandchildren, Amanda and Alex; and her great grandchildren, Autumn and Coy.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 9th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the Welty Family Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Lytle Chapel (117 Holt Dr, Madison, IN 47250). A burial will be held on Friday, October 9th 2026 at the Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery (1415 Msh N Ln, Madison, IN 47250).
