He was predeceased by: his parents, Theresa Genus Newman and Harry R. L. Newman; his former wife Thelma Jean Graham Newman; and his half-brother Harry Newman, Jr.. He is survived by: his wife Patricia Marie Taylor Newman of Madison, Indiana; his children, Roland Henson Newman, Jr. (Julian) of Indianapolis, Indiana, Julian L. Newman (Brooke), Michelle Denise Newman of Indianapolis, Indiana and Veronica Ann Newman of Phoenix, Arizona; his grandchildren, Elizabeth Newman, Erica Newman, Elijah Newman and Elana Newman; and his great grandchild Amira.
