With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Shirley Joan Hill Basham of Madison, Indiana, born in Oakland City, Indiana, who passed away on October 14, 2025 at the age of 89. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, George W. Hill and Helena Thompson Hill Davis; her husband Tommie A. Basham, Jr.; her son Tommie A. Basham, III; and her brother Gary Hill.
She is survived by: her children, Daniel Ray Basham of Princeton, Indiana, Rebecca Lynn Lenart (Mike) of Deaver and Kimberley Lynn Myers (Steve) of Madison, Indiana; her grandchildren, Jolene, Tommie IV, Michelle, Stephanie, Tiffany and Zachary; and her siblings, Haskell Davis of Texas and Jackie Ann Sanders of Oakland City, Indiana. She is also survived by several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 21st 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre (325 Demaree Dr, Madison, IN 47250). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 21st 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
