He was predeceased by: his parents, Pauline E. Williams Mahoney and Hurley Allen Mahoney; and his siblings, Mervin Mahoney, Rannie Mahoney and Eva Lena Mahoney Handlon.

He is survived by: his sons, Steve Mahoney (Patty) of Madison and Keith Mahoney (Kim) of Madison, Indiana; his grandchildren, Ryan (Janie), Kristen (Jordan), Kenton (Logann), Kyler (Kiersten) and Kindsey (Jimmy); his great grandchildren, Ellie, Anna, Kade, Addison, Walker, Bennett, Fielding, Magnolia, Jamie and Collie-Mae; and his sisters, Myra Hinman of Milton and Brenda Richmond (David) of Bedford, Kentucky. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews.
