He was predeceased by: his parents, George Hildenbrand and Corina Hildenbrand (Boehm); his former wives, Irene Alvey and Mary Joanne Lehr; his wife Joanne Lehr-Hildenbrand; his siblings, Gary Hildenbrand and Kathleen Hildenbrand; his brother-in-law Paul Berger; his son-in-law Glen Schmitt; and his stepgranddaughter Hadley Lehr.
He is survived by: his children, Mike Hildenbrand of Logansport, IN, Karen Schmitt of Jasper, IN, Lenny Hildenbrand (Ellen) of Louisville, KY. and Vince Hildenbrand (Alisa) of Jasper, IN.; his stepchildren, Michael Lehr (Lindsey) of Larkspur, CO., Jim Lehr (Heather) of Carmel, IN. and Yvonne Lehr of Ferdinand, IN; his siblings, Mary Louise Berger of St. Marks, IN., Melvin Hildenbrand (Betty) of Jasper, IN and Kenny Hildenbrand (Karen) of Mariah Hill, IN.; and his sister-in-law Diane Hildenbrand of Greenwood, IN.. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren; 4 step-grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 20th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM and on Monday, September 21st 2026 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM. A Mass will be held on Monday, September 21st 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Mary Help of Christians Church (6827 County Rd 675 N, Mariah Hill, IN 47556). A burial will be held on Monday, September 21st 2026 at the St. Boniface Church Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mary Help of Christians Cemetery Fund or the Santa Claus American Legion Post 242.
