He was predeceased by: his parents, Stanley Robert and Barbara Joan Smith (Sartain); and his pet Akai. He is survived by: his sons, Nathan Jerome Smith (Brandy Silverthorn) of Gas City, Nickolas Roy Smith (Jenifer) of Columbus, OH and John "Basil" Astrup of Peru; his sister Cindy Lou Bird (William) of Marion; his grandchildren, Nathan M. Smith of Fort Wayne, Natalie J. Pietrzak of Indianapolis and Sydnie G. Smith of Marion; and his great grandchild Henley Smith.
