He was predeceased by : his parents, Laurence D. and Mary O. Fidler (Moriarity); his sister Mary Louise McDowell; and his wife Jane Fidler Logan. He is survived by : his sister Becky Farrar (Steve) of Bourbonnais, IL; his brother-in-law Rev. Don McDowell; his children, Daniel Fidler, David E. Fidler II and Susan Thomas; his grandchildren, Tyler Thomas, Justin Fidler, Austin Fidler, Allerdyce Fidler, Neve Fidler, Zachary, Ethan, Danielle, Wesley and Isaiah Fidler; his niece Marilyn McDowell; his nephew Mark McDowell (Lori); and his great-niece Emily McDowell.

Memorial contributions may be given to a charity of donor's choice.
