He was predeceased by: his parents, Dalton D. Surfus and Dora M. Surfus (Harshbarger); his wife LouEda "Edie" Surfus; and his sisters, Violet M. Hanawalt and Carolyn Frazier.
He is survived by: his children, D. Dan Surfus, Jr. of Whitley County, Cheri Coomer (Timothy) of Corydon, Tamera Zerrfass-Bingham of Huntington and Michele Henry (David) of Marion. He is also survived by 26 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren with 3 on the way; 3 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and friends.
Visitation was held on Saturday, May 31st 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Brookhaven Wesleyan Church (2960 E 38th St, Marion, IN 46953). A funeral service was held on Saturday, May 31st 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
