She was predeceased by: her parent Buliah Hurd; her husband Percy Hochstedler; her son Percy Hochstedler (Jae); her siblings, Charles Hurd, Melvin Hurd, Juanita Laypoole, Bethada Rheam and James Hurd; and her grandson-in-law Nathan Toy.
She is survived by: her daughter Juanita Joan Moss (Michael); her grandchildren, April Toy (Devin Cole), Amanda McKinney (Bryan), Michael Moss, II (Jessica) and Nicholas Moss (Amanda Baker); her great grandchildren, Alexandra King (Tracy), Bayli Toy (Blake Thompson), Karsyn Cole, Allyssa Cox (Reid), Addison McKinney, Savanna Schamber and Alexis Moss; her great great grandchildren, Cayen King, Nathan King and Ella Cox; and her siblings, Julie Hurd and Pleasant Hurd, Jr. (Pam). She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests sharing a homemade meal with someone you love just as she would have done.
