It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of George E. Laypoole Jr. of Marion, Indiana, who passed away on May 7, 2025, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, George Laypoole, and Nellie Laypoole, Sr. (Gifford); his wife Juanita Laypoole; his sister Mary Francis; his son Troy L. Laypoole; and his brothers, Luther S. Laypoole, Larry H. Laypoole and Wayne Ashmore.
He is survived by: his children, Vickie J. Seacott (Gordon) of Marion, Tonya L. Seacott (Bryan) of Marion and Brian K. Laypoole (Joannie) of Marion; and his grandchildren, Stephanie McHenry (Scott), Shane (Gina Seacott), Heather Columbus (Anthony) of Marion, Ben Alumbaugh of Marion, Gordon Seacott, Jr. of Marion, Kyle Alumbaugh (Gloria) of Westport, IN, Mark McCracken of Indianapolis, Tiffany Dailey (Boe) of Columbus, OH, Kimberly Spooner (Duane) of Anderson, Bonnie Russell (Clinton) of Brownsburg, Nicholas Seacott (Amanda) of Marion, Katelyn Laypoole (Tyler) of Marion and Kirsten Laypoole of Marion. He is also survived by 19 great grandchildren; and 2 great-great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 14th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Thursday, May 15th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral & Cremation Service, North Chapel (1341 N Baldwin Ave, Marion, IN 46952). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 15th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
