He was predeceased by: his parents, Joel Pence and Lillian Pence (Kugler); his daughters, Angie Darlene Pence and Erica Kay Carpenter; and his siblings, DeeWayne Pence, Emily Shaw, Billie Jo Siefert and Sarah Sue Kesler.

He is survived by: his siblings, Terry Pence (Cindy) of Wabash, Marcia McQuiston (Ron) of Kokomo and Deborah Cook (late Ron); and his aunt Waveland Boothe. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
