With heavy hearts, we announce the death of John G. Franklin of Marion, Indiana, who passed away on July 6, 2025 at the age of 78. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of John G. Franklin to pay them a last tribute.
He was predeceased by: his parents, John "JT" Thomas and Helen Frances Franklin (Blackburn); and his siblings, Kenneth Franklin and Claudette "Ann" Chamblin. He is survived by: his children, Eddie Franklin of Covington, KY and Tabatha Barney (Jim) of Gas City; his grandchildren, Hayle Franklin of Kokomo, Chloe Barney of Gas City and Alec Barney of Gas City; and his great grandchild Rose Byrd. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Monday, July 14th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral & Cremation Service, Storey Chapel (400 E Main St, Gas City, IN 46933). A masonic service was held on Monday, July 14th 2025 from 6:30 PM to 7:00 PM at the same location. A funeral service was held on Tuesday, July 15th 2025 at 11:30 AM at the same location.
