He was predeceased by: his wife Shirley Trotter (Lowe); his parents, John Thomas Trotter Sr. and Etta Mae Atkinson (Kindle); his stepfather Bob Atkinson; and his siblings, David Trotter and Kathy Hanlon (Trotter).
He is survived by: his children, John Thomas Trotter III (Heather Murphy), Shay Nichols (Ryan Nichols) and Seth Trotter (Kaylani Trotter); his grandchildren, Madison, Mason, Holli Noelle, Kahleah and Jett; and his siblings, Diane Denney (Trotter), Allen Atkinson and Kyle Atkinson. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
