He was predeceased by: his parents, Ivan H. Eccles and Evelyn Marie Eccles (Shattuck); his former wife Suzanna "Susie" M. Eccles (Mitchell); his son-in-law Tony Avery; and his sister Glendora Lewis.
He is survived by: his wife Helen New Seaver; his daughters, Traci Overman (Mike), Lisa Bennett and Melissa Hughes (Jeff); his grandchildren, Corey Wilson (Andrea), Shane Kinner (Tracy), Zachary Bennett (Stevi), Jessica Bennett, Alison Ellett (Joe) and Abigail Avery; his great grandchildren, Conner Wilson (Gabi), Avery Wilson, Mazie Bennett, Kaden Kinner and Karys Kinner; his siblings, Emory Eccles, Jesse Eccles (Nancy), Wendall Eccles, Wilbur Eccles, Brenda Julian and Lesta Soultz; his children, Peter, Hope, Andrew, Faith, Timmy and Joy Helen; and his pet Miss Puddles.
Visitation was held on Friday, August 28th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the New Hope Baptist Church (800 E South C St, Gas City, IN 46933). A funeral service was held on Friday, August 28th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
Memorial contributions may be made to New Hope Baptist Church or Heart to Heart Hospice in care of the funeral home.
