He was predeceased by: his parents, Cecil Staton and Ruth Staton (Vandervort); his siblings, David Staton and Janice Staton; and his daughter-in-law Leyanna Staton.
He is survived by: his children, Kathleen S. Cook (Nathen) of Lebanon, Kimberly A. Hancock (Roger) of Crawfordsville, Kevin L. Staton (Karen) of West Lafayette and Kenneth J. Staton (Robyn) of Marion; his sisters, Barbara McCarty of Huntington and Martha Rogers of Huntington; his sister-in-law Sue Staton of Indianapolis; and the mother of his children Janet Spears. He is also survived by fifteen grandchildren; twenty-seven great grandchildren with one on the way; two great-great grandchildren.
