He was predeceased by: his parents, Theodore Herring and Goldie Herring (Horner); his wife Mary Francis Smith; his son Terry Lee Herring; and his siblings, Paul Herring, Betty Herring and Ruth Hiney.
He is survived by: his son Perry Herring Jr. (Kimberly) of Euless, TX; his grandchildren, Makala Morgan (Zach) and Blake Maloy (Tawny); his great grandchildren, Sophie Morgan and Saxon Maloy; and his brother Theodore "Ted" E. Herring (Marjorie). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
