He was predeceased by: his parents, Ray Thurston and Martha Faye Ertel; and his son Roger Wayne Ertel. He is survived by: his wife Billie Ertel; his children, Nancy Ray Allen, Angela Haley (Scott), William T. Ertel (Sarah), Joseph Brock Jamal-Ertel (Owais) and Chris Ertel (Jill); and his grandchildren, Teresa Gamble, Rachel Gamble, Randy Gamble, Britny Crumpton, Tristin Allen, Mason Ertel, Aiden Ertel, William Haley, Scott Alexander Haley, Kylee Ertel, Connor Ertel and Keegan Ertel. He is also survived by eight great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 24th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (1465 E Bradford St, Marion, IN 46952). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 24th 2025 at 5:00 PM at the same location.
Roger's contributions to his community extended beyond his professional endeavors.
