He was predeceased by: his parents, Jerry Buckles and Nancy Buckles (Metcalf); his brother Michael Buckles; and his nephews, Bradley and Joshua Ramsey.

He is survived by: his wife Deborah "Debbie" Buckles of Marion; his children, Jerald Scott Buckles Jr. (Stephanie) of Jonesboro, Chavis Little (Emily) of Marion and Kelsy Johnson (Davon) of Marion; his grandchildren, Braedon Dailey, Kylie Buckles, Tristan Buckles, Cadian Little, Braycien Little, Oliver Little, D'ella Colbert and Davon Johnson II; and his sisters, Cheryl Westcott (Mark) of Marion, Joy Ramsey of Marion and Lisa Knotts (Darrin) of Somerset. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
